2014 GTR Best Deals Awards Ceremony takes place in London

The Charity Awards Dinner took place on April 30, 2015, in London in order to award the winners of the GTR Best Deals Awards 2014, hosted by the authoritative publication Global Trade Review. Representatives of leading trade finance institutes were at the event, including those from banks, export credit agencies, and the corporate sector. EXIAR was represented by Timur Khairetdinov, Director of Structured and Project Finance.

The winner of the GTR Best Deals of 2014 award was a deal in which the Export Insurance Agency of Russia provided insurance coverage to finance export deliveries of Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ 100) aircraft for the Mexican airliner Interjet.

SuperJet International—in cooperation with Sukhoi Civil Aircraft and with participation by the banks Natixis, Deutsche Bank, Intesa San Paolo and Vnesheconombank—developed and implemented a financing scheme for delivering Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) aircraft to Mexico. The scheme envisaged receiving multilateral export credit insured by EXIAR, Coface, and SACE. This scheme allowed SuperJet International to offer its client unique long-term financing to acquire 20 SSJ100 aircraft. The order’s total value accounted to $650 million.

GTR Best Deals have been awarded by Global Trade Review since 2002. In 2014, 14 deals made it to the short list. The best were selected by criteria such as deal value, structuring difficulty, and risk level.

The Russian Agency for Export Credit and Investment Insurance (EXIAR) was established in 2011 as an open joint-stock company. EXIAR's mission is to support Russian high-tech exports by insuring export credits against commercial and political risks, as well as Russian investments abroad against political risks. Vnesheconombank is the sole shareholder of EXIAR. The agency's charter capital is RUB 31 billion. Since November 2014 Eximbank of Russia, a Russian specialized government–owned export–import bank, has been a subsidiary of Russian Agency for Export Credit and Investment Insurance (EXIAR).
