06.09.2017 The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between the the Russian Agency for Export Credit and Investment Insurance (EXIAR, part of The Russian Export Center Group) and the Export-Import Bank of Korea (KEXIM) has taken place on September 6, 2017 at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).

The document was signed by the Executive Director of the Russian Export Center Group, Chief Executive Officer of EXIAR, Mr. Alexey Tyupanov and Acting Chairman and President of KEXIM, Mr. Hong Young-Pyo. The document aims at the joint implementation of prospective projects, mutual information support and personnel exchange.

“The agreement with the Export-Import Bank of Korea is a major step in our work to establish cooperation with the largest ECAs worldwide. South Korea is one of the leading economies in the Asia-Pacific region which, in addition, is export-oriented and focuses on development of high-tech industries. I am sure that implementation of joint projects would create favourable conditions for an increase in non-primary exports and become one of the positive factors for further economic cooperation between our countries”, said Alexey Tyupanov.

The Memorandum includes promising projects that are currently under consideration by EXIAR and KEXIM and illustrates collaborative efforts to arrange funding with joint participation of the parties.

Acting Chairman and President Hong remarked: “I am sure that the agreement signed between our two institutions will serve as a momentous step towards creating new forms of cooperation between Korean and Russian companies, thereby increasing their competitiveness in the global market. It is hoped that our collaborative efforts through joint financing and information exchanges will help to expand strategic relationships and economic collaboration between our two countries, which will consequently turn our export potential into export successes in the near future.”
