EXIAR and NEXI held seminar for Japanese business operating in Russia
Russian Agency for Export Credit and Investment Insurance (EXIAR) and Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI) held joint seminar for representatives of Japanese companies and banks registered in Russia.
The event was aimed to introduce opportunities of EXIAR and NEXI in insurance support and development of export operations of enterprises with Japanese participation registered in Russian Federation.
The representatives of banks and companies from financial services, heavy industry, machinery, electronics and other sectors attended the seminar.
The audience was addressed by Alexei Tyupanov, Board Member – Head of International Development, EXIAR; Satoru Koyama, Head of Paris office, Chief Representative for Europe, Russia/CIS, Middle East and Africa Region and Hiroyuki Tanaka, Underwriting Department.
In late April 2013 EXIAR and NEXI laid foundation of cooperation by signing Memorandum of cooperation.
OJSC Russian Agency for Export Credit and Investment Insurance (EXIAR) was established in October, 2011. EXIAR’s mission consists in Russian high-tech exports support through insurance of export credits against commercial and political risks, as well as Russian investments abroad against political risks. EXIAR’s sole shareholder is Vnesheconombank. The Agency’s charter capital makes RUR 30 billion (ca USD 1 billion).
Incorporated Administrative Agency, Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI) was established in April 1, 2001 according to Act on General Rules for Incorporated Administrative Agency Trade and Investment Insurance Act. The key purpose is to efficiently and effectively conduct insurance business of covering risks which arise in foreign transactions and which are not covered by commercial insurance. NEXI’s activity falls under the competence of the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry. The capital makes JPY 104.4 billion.
