EXIAR CEO takes part in first meeting of Russian-Turkmen high-level working group on trade and investment support

Alexey Tyupanov, CEO of the Russian Agency for Export Credit and Investment Insurance (EXIAR – a part of the Russian Export Center Group), participated in the first meeting of the Russian-Turkmen high-level working group on trade and investment support in Ashgabat. In 2015, within the framework of the 9th meeting of the Russian-Turkmen Intergovernmental - Commission for Economic Cooperation the agreement to create the group was reached. During the meeting Alexey Tyupanov noted that many of Russian companies are interested in establishing and strengthening economic cooperation with their Turkmenistan partners and outline that the meeting of Russian-Turkmen high-level working group on trade and investment support will be one of steps to expanding trade and economic cooperation between two countries.

Mr. Tyupanov also addressed a plenary session in Ashgabat as part of a comprehensive business mission of Russian exporters put together by the Russian Export Center, the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, the Russian trade representation and the Turkmenistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Mr. Tyupanov noted Russian exporters’ high level of interest in working with Turkmenistan and spoke to the advantages of partnering with EXIAR and utilizing the Agency’s support products meeting will be one of steps to strengthen trade and economic ties between our countries.

The Russian business mission included over 50 exporters, including the GAZ Group, KAMAZ, Altajvagon, Rostselmash, the OMZ Group, Yaroslavl Shipbuilding Plant, and Kurskpromteplitsa. Turkmenistan was represented by members of government agencies and representatives of over 30 large industrial companies.

The Russian Agency for Export Credit and Investment Insurance (EXIAR) was established in 2011. EXIAR's mission is to support Russian hi-tech exports by insuring export credits against commercial and political risks, as well as Russian investments abroad against political risks. The Russian Export Center is the sole shareholder of EXIAR since the 10th of December, 2015. The agency's charter capital is RUB 43.5 billion. The State Specialized Russian Export-Import Bank (Eximbank of Russia) is a subsidiary of EXIAR.
