EXIAR cosponsors Exporter of the Year Award
The Russian Agency for Export Credit and Investment Insurance and the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, with financial support from the State Corporation Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Activities, have become sponsors for the annual Exporter of the Year Awards Ceremony. The ceremony took place in Moscow November 6, 2015.
The Best Russian Exporter award was created in 1998. Since 2008, the award has been given by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in order to support industrial exports, provide partnership to domestic exporters, and create mechanisms to stimulate their activities.
In 2015, the award received the new format: it's name was changed to Exporter of the Year, the main criterion for selecting exporters to participate was set to non-commodity exports, the decision was made to abandon the sectoral focus when selecting winners, and new categories were developed. These changes allowed all exporters – including small- and medium-sized enterprises, credit organizations, and Russian local and regional governments – to take part in the competition.
The Vladimirskaya region won the category for Leading Exporter Among Russian Territories. The award for most export-friendly bank went to Novikombank. In the category for Most Globally Oriented Russian Exporter, Techsnabexport took the prize. Tyazhmash won the award for Fastest Growing Russian Exporter, while Orion won the same award in the category for small and medium-sized enterprises. The award for the 2014 Exporter of the Year went to two nominees: the Ilim Group and Ufa Engine Industrial Plant.
EXIAR CEO Alexey Tyupanov presented the Most Globally Oriented Russian Exporter to Techsnabexport's Deputy CEO Valery Govorukhin.
Alexey Tyupanov noted that the "annual Exporter of the Year award is one of the most important events for Russian exporters. The process for selecting winners allows us to choose the very best Russian companies and regions in various categories that place significant emphasis on developing various areas of domestic export activities. Supporting Russian exporters is one of EXIAR's key goals, precisely because EXIAR organizes this event.
The Russian Agency for Export Credit and Investment Insurance (EXIAR) was established in 2011. EXIAR's mission is to support Russian hi-tech exports by insuring export credits against commercial and political risks, as well as Russian investments abroad against political risks. Vnesheconombank is the sole shareholder of EXIAR. The agency's charter capital is RUB 31 billion. The State Specialized Russian Export-Import Bank (Eximbank of Russia) is a subsidiary of EXIAR.
