EXIAR held the "Made in Russia Day" in Pavilion of Russia within Expo 2015 in Milan

Export Credit Agency of Russia jointly with “Made in Russia” project organized “Made in Russia Day” dedicated to the launch of a national brand designed to promote Russian exports on the foreign markets, with the participation of Igor Shuvalov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. “Made in Russia Day” was held in Pavilion of Russia within the International Universal Exhibition EXPO-2015 in Milan.

Among participants of “Made in Russia Day” were Georgiy Kalamanov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Peter Fradkov, First Deputy Chairman of Vnesheconombank, Alexey Tyupanov, CEO of Export Insurance Agency of Russia, as well as representatives of Russian export-oriented companies, foreign corporates, media and visitors of Pavilion of Russia.

“Made in Russia Day” was opened by welcome remarks fr om Peter Fradkov and Alexey Tyupanov. CEO and founder of “Made in Russia” project Mikhail Sadchenkov held a presentation of a homonymous national brand for Russian exports promotion. The word then was taken by Hanieh Ferdowsi, Managing Director for International Business Development at EXIAR, who made a presentation “What does Russia export?” on the uncliched facts of the Russian exports. At the end of the business program Igor Shuvalov adderssed the audience with the closing remarks.

The business agenda was followed by “Made with Russia” buffet lunch, co-hosted by EXIAR and Export Credit Agency of Italy SACE, wh ere representatives of Russian and foreign business communities had an opportunity to discuss relevant issues of international economic cooperation with First Vice Prime Minister of Russia in an unformal setting.

Additionally EXIAR together with the “Made in Russia” project arranged an entertainment program for the entire day in Pavilion of Russia, which involved interactive events, distribution of MADE IN RUSSIA brand souvenirs and sample-catering for all guests.

Alexey Tyupanov, CEO of EXIAR:

Project “Made in Russia” will offer Russian exports a single system to promote their image, including a full range of tools that will help our manufacturers to successfully “package” their goods when entering foreign markets.

EXIAR is a strategic partner for the project because its aims fully correspond to the Agency’s mission: increasing the export of non-commodity goods from Russia.

We invite everybody involved in exporting to participate in the project. I am convinced that together, we can make it bigger and better.

Mikahil Sadchenkov, founder of Project “Made in Russia”:

The previous year of 2014 clearly illustrated that the lack of communication leads to an inaccurate perception of our country. Just call to mind the words of the US President when he said that Russia doesn’t manufacture anything. Naturally, that remark was emotional, but it made it to the pages of nearly every international media agency, and it was really hard to refute that because it’s difficult for foreign media to get reliable information about Russian exports, companies, and brands due to a lack of a single system in this field. We sincerely hope that “Made in Russia” will change this situation for the better and become another tool in shaping international opinion to promote Russian exports, business, and culture.

The Russian Agency for Export Credit and Investment Insurance (EXIAR) was established in 2011 as an open joint-stock company. EXIAR's mission is to support Russian high-tech exports by insuring export credits against commercial and political risks, as well as Russian investments abroad against political risks. Vnesheconombank is the sole shareholder of EXIAR. The agency's charter capital is RUB 31 billion. Since November 2014 Eximbank of Russia, a Russian specialized government–owned export–import bank, has been a subsidiary of Russian Agency for Export Credit and Investment Insurance (EXIAR).

Project “Made in Russia” is a Russian communications project aimed at promotion and increasing awareness of Russia’s exports, business, and culture in foreign markets.

The push to make this project a reality stemmed from the absence of a single system of visual identity to unite all Russian exports.

International experience: national brands are a widespread trend in many countries’ foreign trade policy. Other countries have introduced similar programs to promote exports since 1971. “Made in…” brands exist in Germany, Canada, the United States, China, Italy, Belarus, India, and others.
