EXIAR holds seminar for exporters based in the Republic of Dagestan
On 26 November 2013, the Rasul Gamzatov National Library of the Republic of Dagestan (Makhachkala) hosted a seminar for local exporters entitled 'Helping Companies Enter New Markets Abroad and Supporting Exports in the Republic of Dagestan'. The event was organised by the Ministry of Trade and Investment of the Republic of Dagestan.
The seminar was attended by Abusupyan Kharkharov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Dagestan; Rafael Abramyan, Deputy Head of the Department for Development and Regulation of International Trade at the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation; Yuri Butt, Deputy Director of Vnesheconombank's representative office for the North Caucasian Federal District in Pyatigorsk; Alexei Akindinov, Director General of MSP (SME) Leasing; Boris Igoshin, Deputy Head of the Department of Export Support for SMEs at EXIAR; Andrei Zhigalov, specialist at the Department of Client Relations; and Rena Ramazanova, Director of the Dagestan Branch Office of Sviaz Bank. The event also attracted heads of local ministries and government departments, credit organisations based in the republic, freight organisations, and exporting companies.
Particular attention was paid to the issue of providing financial support to Russian manufacturers and exporters, namely via the provision of export credit insurance to cover against commercial and political risks. Boris Igoshin and Andrei Zhigalov both spoke on the subject of insuring Russian investments abroad, promoting the export of Russian-made equipment and technology, and assistance and insurance support for domestic companies entering new markets.
The Russian Agency for Export Credit and Investment Insurance (EXIAR) was established in 2011 as an open joint-stock company. EXIAR’s mission is to support Russian high-tech exports by insuring export credits against commercial and political risks, as well as Russian investments abroad against political risks. Vnesheconombank is the sole shareholder of EXIAR. The agency's charter capital is RUB 30 billion.
