EXIAR insures Russian investments in the Republic of Belarus
The Russian Agency for Export Credit and Investment Insurance (EXIAR) has concluded a political risk insurance (PRI) policy with the Russian group of companies, OMSK CARBON GROUP.
As part of the agreement, the policy will cover OMSK CARBON GROUP’s Russian investments in Belarus into a project to construct a carbon black production plant with a total capacity of 160,000 tons a year. The plant is planned to be built in the Mogilev special economic zone. Estimated plant construction time is 2.5 years. The PRI is signed for 8 years.
Political Risk Insurance is provided to investors against loss of investments caused by political events. Policies cover overseas investments made as an equity participation as well as investment-like loans or any other forms of investment.
