EXIAR opens its first international office
On September 25, 2015, Minsk, Belarus played host to the opening of EXIAR’s first international representative office. Four years since its own establishment, EXIAR is already expanding its presence abroad. 'Exiar is growing very fast, and in our approach to international markets it is both strategic and commercial considerations that is driving this decision’ says Hanieh Ferdowsi, Managing Director for International Business Development. ‘Indeed this is our first international opening, in a market we already know rather well, but we still see significant room for more business and enhanced relations. The local presence is invaluable – more importantly, in Belarus we are the first ECA to do so’.
The official opening ceremony took place at the new EXIAR Minsk office and the ribbon was cut jointly by EXIAR’s CEO Alexey Tyupanov and the Chairman of the National Bank of Belarus, Pavel Kallaur. The event was continued at the Beijing Hotel with a plenary session, followed by a reception. The event was attended by members of the Belarusian Government, further to Belarussian and Russian banks and companies.
Speaking about the purpose and role of the representative office, Alexey Tyupanov, EXIAR CEO commented “EXIAR’s team in Minsk will work on developing business, including cooperating with Belarusian buyers, financial institutions, and Russian companies in the local market. It will also be active in analyzing and monitoring of potential projects. We are convinced that we can create the necessary incentives to move trade and economic ties between business groups from our two countries to an even higher level of quality. The businesses of Russia and Belarus should see eye to eye and work side by side”.
“It is very important for us to see that EXIAR has made this decision to open its representative office in Minsk. We already work closely together, but this investment and step further enhances our relationship. EXIAR is the first ECA opening a representative office in our country. We look forward to the advantages and benefits EXIAR can bring to the Belarussian market”, commented Gennady Mickiewicz, CEO of "Beleximgarant".
EXIAR’s team in Minsk is already fully operational, headed by Victor Doronkevich.
