EXIAR regional office in Far Eastern Federal District holds first event for exporters

EXIAR’s new regional office in the Far Eastern Federal District has held its first business event for exporters. The seminar, which took place on 25 March 2015, was organised in association with the Khabarovsk Territory Export Support and Development Centre.

The aim of the event was to introduce representatives of export-oriented companies and regional banks to the benefits of EXIAR’s products. As well as facilitating access to export finance while minimising the risks borne by the exporter, the Agency can help reduce the risks borne by banks financing these projects.

The seminar was opened by Ivan Sukhanov, Head of the Khabarovsk Territory Export Support and Development Centre, and Maxim Tarasov, Head of the Department for Economic Cooperation and Investment Processes at the Ministry of Economic Development of Khabarovsk Territory. Both representatives highlighted the vital role played by the Agency in boosting the region’s export potential. Speaking at the event on behalf of EXIAR were Boris Igoshin, Regional Development Director at EXIAR; Alexey Tsovbun, Head of EXIAR’s Regional Office; and Roman Glushak, Director of Regional Development for the Far Eastern Federal District.

During the seminar, EXIAR’s representatives spoke about the Agency’s current services, as well as the specific features of using them. They also provided a step-by-step guide to the insurance procedure, taking examples from previous export projects which were implemented with EXIAR’s involvement. These case studies included deals completed by exporters based in Khabarovsk Territory.

The event was held as an open discussion, which allowed representatives of the business and banking communities to get first-hand answers to any questions relating to the practical implementation of the Agency’s products.

EXIAR’s Regional Office in the Far Eastern Federal District officially opened on 12 March 2015 in Vladivostok.

The office is tasked with providing support to exporters and banks financing exports in the region. It also provides information to the local authorities and other interested organisations on methods of export support offered by EXIAR.

The office covers the Sakha Republic (Yakutia); the Kamchatka, Primorsky and Khabarovsk territories; the Amur, Magadan and Sakhalin regions; the Jewish Autonomous Region; and the Chukotka Autonomous District.

The Russian Agency for Export Credit and Investment Insurance (EXIAR) was established in 2011 as an open joint-stock company. EXIAR's mission is to support Russian high-tech exports by insuring export credits against commercial and political risks, as well as Russian investments abroad against political risks. Vnesheconombank is the sole shareholder of EXIAR. The agency's charter capital is RUB 31 billion. Since November 2014 Eximbank of Russia, a Russian specialized government–owned export–import bank, has been a subsidiary of Russian Agency for Export Credit and Investment Insurance (EXIAR).
