EXIAR supports exporters based in Orenburg Region
On 3 February EXIAR CEO Peter Fradkov and Governor of Orenburg Region Yuri Berg met to discuss ways of supporting exporters based in the region, as well as possible areas of cooperation.
A seminar, organised by EXIAR with the support of the Government of Orenburg Region, also took place on the same day. The event was held especially for exporting companies and banks based in Orenburg and the surrounding region.
Fradkov and Berg both opened the event with welcoming addresses.
The seminar also included a presentation of the Agency's services given by two employees: Andrei Polyakov, Managing Director of Regional Development and Support for SMEs, and Alexei Bezdenezhnykh, Customer Relations Director.
Polyakov covered the Agency's main insurance services and the principles governing the organisation's work with different categories of clients. He also drew attention to EXIAR's contribution to creating and implementing a modern export support system in Russia, secured by the Agency's insurance coverage.
Bezdenezhnykh spoke on the insurance opportunities offered by EXIAR for companies in the agricultural sector.
The event also included presentations by representatives of the Department for Development and Governance of Foreign Economic Relations of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
Today, Orenburg Region boasts foreign trade links with 96 countries across the world. In 2013, foreign trade amounted to USD 3 billion – a 20% decrease compared to 2012. However, as noted by Yuri Berg, these statistics do not take into account trade with the countries of the Customs Union, which is equal to the amount of trade done with other countries.
The Russian Agency for Export Credit and Investment Insurance (EXIAR) was established in 2011 as an open joint-stock company. EXIAR’s mission is to support Russian high-tech exports by insuring export credits against commercial and political risks, as well as Russian investments abroad against political risks. Vnesheconombank is the sole shareholder of EXIAR. The agency's charter capital is RUB 30 billion.
