With EXIAR’s support, the Russian Ministry of Economic Development joined the Russian Trade Representative in Turkey on April 22, 2015, to organize a comprehensive business mission for Russian companies to promote export and investment projects in the Turkish market. The mission was timed to correspond with the Turkish-Russian Business Forum, in which both countries’ economic development ministers participated.
In opening remarks to the business mission’s participants, Russian Economic Development Minister Alexey Ulyukaev and Turkish Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekçi. President of the Turkish Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) Ömer Cihad Vardan and CEO of EXIAR Alexey Tyupanov spoke at the plenary session, which touched on issues regarding the development of bilateral trade between Russia and Turkey.
Alexey Tyupanov spoke about EXIAR’s role in promoting trade cooperation, promising areas of Russian-Turkish projects, as well as EXIAR projects that have already been implemented and are still under review. Mr. Tyupanov noted that, with EXIAR’s participation, Russian investors can invest more readily in projects located in Turkey thanks to risk coverage.
In addition, he emphasized that EXIAR is ready to support Russian exporters who jointly participate with Turkish companies in large international structural projects that simultaneously support product or service exports from several countries, including Turkey and Russia. EXIAR’s CEO concluded by expressing confidence that the Agency is ready to provide comprehensive support to develop cooperation between Russian and Turkey companies and financial institutions, which falls in the organization’s mandate.
The business mission continued with presentations by Russian companies and bilateral meetings as part of a B2B meeting that served as a platform for more detailed discussion of potential partnership.
